DAY 5: Part 2 - Trip to Khardungla Pass

Khardungla Pass – 40 kms drive from Leh, Khardungla pass is the highest motorable road in world. We started at 3:00 p.m. from Leh and as we climbed ahead, the motorable part from the road vanished and it seemed we were ascending on the highest road on world. But in the end it was all worth it :)IMG_1475 IMG_2383

Exhilarated upon reaching the top.

On our way to the top we encountered snowfalls in an avalanche prone area, waddled inundated roads, and braved extreme windy and icy cold weather. But, the feeling on reaching the top would never be satiated with anything remotely akin to it.

DAY 6: Leh to Sarchu – Crossing TagLangLa – Second highest motorable road
in world

DAY 7: Sarchu to Manali – Night halt at one of the windiest locations and crossing Baralachala AGAIN!!

IMG_2528 IMG_2529
We halted at Windy Sarchu for the night and stayed at one of the local camps. With bare minimal vegetation in sight and low lying area between two passes, the winds are really boisterous here.

Hold me down, Make me drown,
And with a last rush, I rise again
Bend my will, hold me still
Never shall you, be ahead in the game

I live, coz my mind is free.
